YOUNG AUSTRALIAN ARTISTS COME TO VIENNA
First-ever exhibition in Europe

An exhibition of contemporary Australian artists will be held from 18 November to 10 December 2005 at Pickwick’s English Café in the heart of Vienna’s first district. It will be opened by the Australian ambassador, Deborah Stokes, on Thursday 17th November.

This is the first time the artists—famous in their own country—have exhibited in Europe. They include such Australian “household names” as: Jonathan Zawada, Abbey McCulloch, Gemma Jones, ABCK, Dyms, Elana Mullaly, and Beau Velasco. who are coming together under the collective title “OZtria— Vienna Schnitzel.”

The young artists will exhibit a diverse range of works including posters, illustration, handmade toys, zines, and works on canvas, many of which will be on sale to the public. Vibrant and frequently thought-provoking, the items will be of particular interest to lovers of contemporary art, especially younger age groups.

Full details of the artists are available (in English) from the exhibition’s curator, Nicholas Platzer, inoperable@gmail.com.
